How do you turn on this toy microscope?

We got this toy microscope at a garage sale, but have no idea how to turn it on. There is no instructions and as far as I can tell, no on switch. There is a place for batteries, but I can't find a switch.
It is the Elenco EDU-41011 Microscope.
its an Edu Science microscope set with light and projector, with a 750X zoom.
Help?

According to the instruction sheet, the light
should come on automatically when the mirror
is turned down so that the light bulb is pointed
towards the microscope lens.
