How to correct a foal that nips?
He's about 5 or 6 months old, and I don't want him to carry on nipping and thinking he's allowed to. If it was an older horse I'd give him a good slap, but because he's only little I don't want to hurt him. Should I just be heartless and thump him, or is there a kinder way?
I agree to pinch/twitch with your finger to the lip. They will learn to stop. It is not heartless to correct a foal. I have had colts that I have had to do a firm thump. Other wise you'll have bigger problems later.
