Rubber Snake Looks
REPOST-- bearded dragon?

So I got a new tank for my bearded dragon.
it was originally for a snake... I'm not sure what kind, but it went in water.

there was this waterfall feature in it, it's like this big fake rock foam thing glued onto the tank wall- I took out the piping and stuff, but left the foam thing there because it looks good in the tank.

I was looking closer and I noticed algae all over the back of it, between the rock thing and the tank wall-

let me tell you though, the thing is glued to the wall with like, rubber cement I believe it is.

I just wanted to know if the algae would hurt him, even though he wouldn't have much access to it,

if it will, I would be glad to take it out.

thanks,
Tori

Of course it could have an effect on your beardie. It's not something naturally occuring where they came from so their bodies wouldn't know what to do with the bacteria from it.

If you can take it out without breaking the foam stuff, just clean it then put it back in the tank. Just try to get as much of that aglea stuff off. It's better to be safe than sorry. I know I wouldn't want my dragon around something that has the potential to introduce harmful bacteria and parasites.

Not to mention, you should clean out the tank extra carefully since there was a reptile in there prior to the beardie. So yes, please either take it out, or clean it and put it back.

Thanks for looking at our Rubber Snake Looks information.
