What's the best sprocket set up on a 2008 gsx-r 750?
I just bought a gixxer and I need to order a sprocket kit (looking at 525 -1 front/+1 rear for $65). The stock chain is a 116 link 525 pitch; am I going to have to change that with 5,000 miles on it? The chain looks like it's in good condition, and it should be fine on length as long as I avoid +3 or more in the rear. I'd like to avoid the cost of a new chain, but I'd rather pay now than pay for all new fairings if my chain were to snap around a corner. Any suggestions? I've been riding streets for 3 years, and I really want to start riding tracks in the near future. Possibly next summer. Thanks for the help.
I have -1/+2 on my 2006 ZX10R and love the setup. You will need a speedohealer to correct your mph. You can reuse your stock chain. They last forever as long as you maintain them (cleaned and lubed). I had 18k miles on my 2006 zx6r when I sold her and still had the stock chain.
