"What is the the type of paint to use on kids riding toys?"?

We decided to get our daughter a mustang for christmas this year but I wanna paint it to match mine. Black with orange stripes. What kind of paint would be best for this kind of project? Should I put a clear coat on after painting it?

Like a PowerWheels Mustang? If so, just pick up some Krylon spray paint, and make sure you get the gloss paint if you want it to shine. They have a special type that is designed to bond especially well with plastic (Called Krylon Fusion), which is sold at most art/hobby stores and places such as WalMart.

Make sure you do nice even, light layers to avoid any imperfections in the paint, like running. And yes, do put on a clear coat. This will not only give some protection to the paint, but may also give the paint a better shine.
