How do i prevent touching other strings when i pick my guitar string?
I'm trying to learn some songs and i just started playing guitar a few days ago, and whenever i pick the 2nd and 5th string together, holding onto the frets, i get a buzzing sound and it's not clear at all, even though i finger the fret behind the bar a little. I also kept getting into contact with the other string, which primarily causes the bad sound. The contact comes from the vibration of the string. How to solve it pls!!! Thanks to whoever that helped.

Others have noted that you should be using your finger tips. You want to keep your fingers arched if possible to make sure you are using only the tips. Touching other strings is something we all have to work on. Usually that happens with your picking hand. You need to practice being precise in what strings you pick. You also have to learn how to silence (mute) the other strings to prevent unwanted noise. You can do that with either hand. You touch the other string to deaden it so it does not ring out.
